Common Sense & Emotional Content

I have just had the privilege of having my parents over, just prior to the Common Weath Games that are about to begin in Delhi.

The CWG , the Ayodhya Verdict, the pain in Kashmir are all playing on my mind....

Here's what i feel In the Images and Words of the Masters

The Blind Monks and the Elephant
and What they perceived

Here are a few words of immortality from Another Great Master
"It's Like a Finger...."

I'm praying for common sense
and wisdom from our elders

"Obstinacy in opinions holds the dogmatist in the chains of error, without the hope of emancipation." - Granville, John C.

"Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one's own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others." - Kennedy, John F.

Privacy & Publicity

The debate continues.... in continuation to my earlier post on this topic - Google … Going, Going, Gone?

Here are "Six Reasons Why I’m Not On Facebook, By Wired UK’s Editor" - http://bit.ly/dsOXYu

HAS to be Read with

"Do you actually care about privacy? I'm not sure you do. By Seth Godin" - http://bit.ly/aktu5w

Has Nokia gone Soft?

While Disruptive Innovation maybe the Management Strategy that Nokia is looking to follow to continue Leadership .... it is yet to be seen if this will make them go the way of Philips or IBM...

Having been the undisputed leader in mobile hardware tech for close to 2 decades, and having hung onto – “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” Symbian in the software space.

First, President and CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo was replaced by Ex-Microsoft’s Stephen Elop… probably resulting in the resignation of Anssi Vanjoki, the head of Nokia’s Mobile Solutions unit on Sep 13, 2010, just a day before Nokia’s World 2010 Global Event.

Nokia also confirmed that its longtime board chairman, Jorma Ollila, might step down from the board after the company’s general meeting in 2012.

Is this a case of Nokia’s strategic thinking or knee-jerk blaming - bottom line gaming?

Can a Leopard change its spots?

I’d rather have the old leopard back…

Stick to feature phones Nokia… Leave the smarties alone…. Focus on your broadbase, and leverage your market and distribution domination.

Work in Progress - The Perpetual Beta

Why is "Bring Back the Beta" in the Logo such an important feature in Google's List of Lab Options

"We're often asked why so many Google applications seem to be perpetually in beta. For example, Gmail has worn the beta tag more than five years. We realize this situation puzzles some people, particularly those who subscribe to the traditional definition of "beta" software as not being yet ready for prime time."

Precisely for the reason that any "Enterprise" is just like Star Trek.... an exploration, and experiment to try new things, and boldly go where no (business)man has gone before...
